The Olathe school district is proud of its award-winning students and staff. Students are regularly recognized for their achievements in academics and athletics. Our highly qualified instructors have been honored by their peers locally and nationwide for a variety of accomplishments.

  • ACT and SAT scores above state and national averages; students with perfect ACT scores in 2012-13, 2010-11, 2009-10, 2006-07, 2004, 2002-03, 2000 and 1999; perfect SAT scores in 2006-07 and 2005-06
  • National Gold Medal (top) ranking from Expansion Management Magazine based on quality indices
  • 17 National Blue Ribbon School Awards from the U.S. Department of Education — more than any other district in the state
  • Only district in the state to achieve a Level III (highest honor) Kansas Award for Excellence, the state level Malcolm Baldrige program
  • Named to the 2006 and 2003 "Best 100 Communities for Music Education" lists by the National Association for Music Education
  • Kansas Teacher of the Year awards in 2012, 2007, 2003, 2000, 1997, 1995 and 1974
  • 16 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching since 1990 — more than any other district in the state
  • State championships in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming / diving, track and field, wrestling, forensics, mock trial, Science Olympiad and Scholar Bowl competitions
  • 2007 NEA-Saturn/UAW Partnership Award for New Teacher Induction Programs — one of six in the nation
  • 99 percent efficiency rating according to a study by Standard & Poor's — District was one of 26 districts rated 99 percent efficient or higher when it comes to spending state education dollars
