Alumni Association Scholarships

The alumni association oversees several scholarships for Olathe graduates. The funds are invested and distributed by the Olathe Public Schools Foundation. Scholarship applications are available on the foundation's website.

Amelia Shears Scholarship

Olathe High School's Class of 1953 established a scholarship in honor of Amelia W. Shears who taught English, Spanish, Latin and French for 47 years in Olathe schools. Seniors from all four Olathe high schools are eligible to apply if they plan to pursue a career in education. Applicants must demonstrate financial need for this $500 scholarship.

Olathe High School Alumni Association Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship is offered to a senior at Olathe North High School who demonstrates financial need and participates in at least one school club or activity.

Ralph Dennis Scholarship

The $1,000 scholarship honors former Olathe North High School teacher and coach Ralph Dennis. Olathe North seniors who have been a member of the boys or girls varsity basketball teams, earned a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA, and demonstrated financial need are eliglble to apply.

Ruth Ann Hackler Scholarship

The Olathe High School Class of 1953 established this scholarship in honor of Ruth Ann Hackler, a retired business teacher at Olathe High School. Olathe North High School seniors who demonstrate financial need are eligible to apply for this $500 scholarship.
