Former Superintendent Melvin Winters Dies at 86

April 23, 2012 ~ Longtime educator and former Olathe Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Melvin L. Winters died on Saturday, April 21. He was 86.  Winters served as superintendent in the Olathe School District from 1968-1991.

"Dr. Winters left a legacy in the Olathe Public Schools that will last for generations," said Superintendent Marlin Berry. "He made a lasting impression on the district and all the students and staff he impacted during his long career in education. He will be missed."
