Sign Up Now for Citizen Education Academy

Dec. 13, 2012 ~ Patrons and staff of the Olathe School District are invited to learn more about educational topics specifically related to the district during the spring 2013 Citizen Education Academy. The two-hour evening sessions begin in late January and conclude with recognition at the March 7 Board of Education meeting.

Topics include an overview of the district (roles of the Board of Education, the superintendent and administrative team), safe schools, how the district functions as a business, student learning, and how to stay involved and informed.

The Citizen Education Academy is open to all district patrons and staff. Sessions will be held from 6-8 p.m., with a light supper provided, in the Education Center, 14160 Black Bob Rd., Olathe. The only exception is the Feb. 19 District Site Council meeting session which will be at Olathe North High School, 600 E. Prairie, Olathe.

Meeting dates are Jan. 29 and 31, Feb. 5, 19, 26 and 28. Academy graduates will be recognized at the March 7 Board of Education meeting.
