Applications, Tickets Available for Olathe's Got Talent
Feb. 25, 2013 ~ The annual Olathe's Got Talent event will showcase this area's young talent in the areas of music (vocal and instrumental), dance, and variety (comedy, magic, etc.). Performers from second grade through their senior year in high school will have the chance to compete for more than $5,000 in scholarships during this year's event.
Olathe Lincoln Ford presents Olathe's Got Talent 2013 from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in the auditorium of Olathe Northwest High School, 21300 College Blvd., Olathe. The event is organized by the Olathe Noon Optimist Club and Olathe Northwest in conjunction with Olathe Parks and Recreation.
In addition to the scholarships, a $1,500 "Show Stopper Award" from Simmons First National Bank will be awarded to one of the performances.
Audition applications are due March 8 (deadline extended) and can be found on the Optimist website (www.olathenoonoptimist.com) or the Olathe Public Schools' ePost site (http://www.olatheschools.com/epost).
Auditions will be scheduled beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 7 and 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10. Finalists must attend an event rehearsal at 7 p.m. Friday, April 19.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for senior citizens and students. They may be purchased online at www.olathenoonoptimist.com, from Olathe Noon and Olathe Evening Optimist members, or by emailing email@example.com.
Proceeds from Olathe's Got Talent 2013 will provide scholarships, educational materials for Olathe Northwest's theatre department, Miracle League team sponsorships, and other youth projects supported by the Olathe Noon Optimists.
